What God is doing at Northgate is VERY unique. In America, 80-85% of all churches are either on a plateau in their attendance or slowly declining. Of the 15% of churches that are growing, most (according to the experts) are growing from “transfer” growth, rather than “conversion” growth. Also, in the average year, half of all existing churches will add not even one new member through conversion growth.
Like I said, God is doing something VERY unique at Northgate. Not only has our church grown significantly these past seven months, but I’ve been made aware of at least seven or eight people who have made first-time commitments to Christ since December. I’m sure there are many others. I just haven’t heard. God rocks! I can't take credit for this kind of work, nor should the church. It is clearly a God-thing.
Peter Wagner sums it up this way, “The single most effective evangelistic methodology under heaven is planting new churches.” I'm so glad God started this church.
