Some Thoughts on Forgiveness

Looking for a little forgiveness? Chew on some of these verses: Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity and guilt and cleanse me and make me wholly pure from my sin! Psalm 51: 2

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right, persevering, and steadfast spirit within me. Cast me not away from Your presence and take not Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and uphold me with a willing spirit. Psalm 51: 10-12

He who covers and forgives an offense seeks love, but he who repeats or harps on a matter separates even close friends. Proverbs 17: 9

If My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, pray, seek, crave, and require of necessity My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7: 14

O Lord, hear! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, give heed and act! Do not delay, for Your own sake, O my God, because Your city and Your people are called by Your name. Daniel 9: 19

For if you forgive people their trespasses [their reckless and willful sins, leaving them, letting them go, and giving up resentment], your heavenly Father will also forgive you. Matthew 6: 14

If we admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1: 9

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the remission of our offenses, in accordance with the riches and the generosity of His gracious favor. Ephesians 1: 7

So let it be clearly known and understood by you, brethren, that through this Man forgiveness and removal of sins is now proclaimed to you. Acts 13: 38

And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him and let it drop, in order that your Father Who is in heaven may also forgive you your [own] failings and shortcomings and let them drop. Mark 11:25

[The Father] has delivered and drawn us to Himself out of the control and the dominion of darkness and has transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in Whom we have our redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our sins. Colossians 1: 13-14

Blessed is he who has forgiveness of his transgression continually exercised upon him, whose sin is covered. Psalm 32: 1

I acknowledged my sin to You, and my iniquity I did not hide. I said, I will confess my transgressions to the Lord—then You forgave me the guilt and iniquity of my sin. Psalm 32: 5
