Passion. People Purpose. That's what our mission is all about. Our vision is what we're striving for and our values, THE NORTHGATE 9, are how we operate. We hope that you will experience all of this as you spend time at Northgate!

OUR MISSION

Northgate Church is passionate about helping people become who God purposed them to be.

OUR VISION

We envision an outwardly-focused, biblically-grounded, multi-generational, deliberately-diverse, leader-developing, Jesus-following, PEOPLE-SENDING church. Not an audience, but an army!

We envision a Spirit-filled, soul-swaying, life-changing, FRONT-ROW church, where people are released in praise, prayer, and healing and equipped to become who God purposed them to be.

We envision a Christ-centered, radically-loving, EXCESSIVELY-COMPASSIONATE church who serves rather than be served, who gives rather than takes, and who blesses rather than curses.

OUR VALUES

1 We won't shut up. We can't stop talking about Jesus Christ. In Him we find life and forgiveness, hope and peace, healing, freedom, and purpose. We want everyone to know God, and we will risk just about anything to get the word out.

2 We are lean and mean. We choose to do a few things well and wholeheartedly, not several things poorly and halfheartedly.

3 We hang together. Everyone is going to hang out together in heaven someday, so we might as well start practicing now. Church community should mirror heaven’s eternity.

4 We are downwardly mobile. We want to go lower and serve deeper. Jesus said, “The last will be first,” and frankly, we're competitive.

5 We are weird, because normal isn't working. Following Jesus is a counter-cultural lifestyle. We choose this path deliberately. Life transformation and whole-hearted pursuit of Jesus Christ is weird to the world around us, but normal here.

6 We innovatively teach the Bible. We don’t shy away from the deep truths of Scripture. They are so good for us. However, we do want people to actually hear the word of God and apply it. So, we make every effort to remove unnecessary barriers. That means we use simple, non-religious language and culture, as well as humor and the arts, to communicate the message of Jesus in its entirety.

7 We like to party. We joyfully expend resources worshiping God and leading others to him. He is worthy of more than anything we can offer. So, like the woman who poured out perfume on Jesus’ feet, we invest time and money and everything else into activities that honor Jesus Christ and get out the good news of his kingdom.

8 We rely on God ...mostly because we have to. Jesus said, “Apart from me you can do nothing.” So, we are a church that prays at all times and in every situation and then leaves the results to God. We lean heavily on the power of the Holy Spirit and we work hard not to get ahead of him as we follow Jesus Christ.

9 We do for a few, what we’d like to do for many. While we can’t do everything for everyone, we make a concerted effort to practice peace, generously care for those in need, and bless the most vulnerable in our community and around the world.
